Kari Grenade

Kari Grenade is an economist with more than 25 years of experience in public finance, macroeconomic policy, economic planning, and sustainable development. She has published in these areas in peer‑reviewed regional and international journals.

From June 2017 to April 2024, she served as the International Monetary Fund’s long‑term macroeconomic advisor to the Ministry of Finance in Grenada, where she provided strategic guidance on fiscal policy, macroeconomic management, and economic reform. Prior to her IMF assignment, Ms. Grenade spent a decade at the Caribbean Development Bank and five years at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. She also chaired the Technical Working Group for Grenada’s National Sustainable Development Plan 2020–2035 from September 2018 to December 2019 and is the lead author of the Plan.

Ms. Grenade holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University, a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of the West Indies, Barbados.
