Since the beginning of the New Year, the IMF’s website has a dedicated page on fiscal issues. It is accessible from the imf.org home page under Key Issues: Fiscal Issues at the IMF. It supplements the efforts to improve the outreach on fiscal issues that began with this PFM blog in 2008 and a regular e-newsletter by the Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) to subscribers in 2009.
The fiscal issue page features statements made by the Managing Director and his deputies on fiscal policy issues as well as the latest publications on a large variety of fiscal topics. Soon, publications on fiscal issues back to 2008 will be easily accessible from this page. Institutional information about the coverage and approach of the work of FAD are included in an electronic brochure also posted there. Upcoming conferences and forthcoming major publications are presented as well as important links to Fiscal Transparency codes, the PFM blog, the International Tax Dialog which is mainly supported by the OECD, the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF, the World Bank, and the European Commission.
